The origins of Laboratorios MIXIM date
back to the year 1920, when a group of Germans
established in Mexico decided to create Laboratorios
Codex to manufacture medicines made mainly with
botanical extracts.
As a consequence of the state of war due to the
World War II, the Mexican government intervened
Laboratorios Codex, wich was sold to a chemical
pharmaceutical company.
In 1948, the same group of Germans decided to create a new company, dedicated to the extraction of medicinal herbs and, on November 27, 1948, Laboratorios MIXIM was established as a business corporation.
In 1961, Laboratorios MIXIM was purchased by the North American company S.B. Penick with the purpose of starting the production of Papain in Mexico, for the replenishment of the world market. As a consequence of the merger between S.B. Penick and C.P.C., MIXIM was sold in 1977 to its current owners, who had already been working for the company since 1962.
